A stay to remember at Citadines Sukhumvit 23 in Bangkok
On our way to Phuket, we decided to take a one-day halt at Bangkok as it had been quite a while since we last came over here. We wanted to see how Bangkok had changed during all these years! The silver-lining of our brief stop-over at the city was our stay at Citadines Sukhumvit 23, an Ascott property.
We landed in the morning and the property is about 45 minutes drive from the airport, considering the traffic conditions in the city. Located very strategically, Citadines is an Apart’hotel chain which combines the experiences of a modern hotel with a service apartment.
The apart’hotel is in the heart of a prime district in Bangkok and is surrounded by restaurants, spas and the famous shopping mall – Terminal 21. The subway and the Asok skytrain stations are at a walking distance, although the property also provides free shuttle services to its guests.
The front-desk functions for 24 hours and is there to assist you for most of your needs. Despite being a service apartment hotel, the property also has a travel desk for tour planning, activities and recommendations on top things to do in the city.
The rooms are beautiful and with a separate living area, bed-room and a fully serviced kitchen with all the amenities for those who love to cook their own stuff. We used the kitchen to good effect in the evening after a hectic day in the city and ended up cooking a couple of quick meals.
Among other features, Citadines Sukhumvit 23 has an open swimming pool for complimentary usage and provides free WiFi to all its guests. The next morning we grabbed a quick breakfast meal at the Nikko Cafe, an all-day Japanese lifestyle cafe which serves a variety of refreshments, foods, and desserts which are inspired by Japanese theme.
I would definitely be staying back at Citadines Sukhumvit 23 for its warm hospitality, convenient location and the budget pricing.
